AC Milan has announced a significant partnership with the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) to establish the first-ever AC Milan Academy Pro in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The collaboration aims to elevate sports education standards and nurture the next generation of football talent in the region.
A New Era for Football Development in Bahrain
The AC Milan Academy Pro will be based at NCST’s prestigious campus in Askar, Bahrain. The center is known for its comprehensive approach, integrating academic and vocational training. By joining forces with AC Milan, the Academy will combine high-level football training with educational development, creating a pathway for young Bahraini athletes aspiring to professional careers.
Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, emphasized the significance of the initiative:
“We are thrilled to bring the AC Milan Academy Pro to Bahrain in partnership with NCST. This project aligns with our commitment to developing young talent and expanding AC Milan’s presence in the Middle East. We aim to create a world-class environment for aspiring footballers, nurturing their potential both on and off the pitch.”
Utilizing the AC Milan Method
The Academy will employ the AC Milan Method, a training approach focused on enhancing individual player skills through tailored activities. Official Milan Academy Coaches will lead the program, concentrating on technical development, while also emphasizing the importance of personal growth and education. The initiative is designed to provide a holistic sports education, integrating NCST’s Sports and Business Management track to foster well-rounded athletes, coaches, and future sports administrators.
Dr. Abdulla Naser Al Noaimi, CEO of NCST, highlighted the collaboration’s alignment with Bahrain’s vision for sports excellence:
“At NCST, we are dedicated to advancing the sports sector and nurturing young talent through a structured educational framework. This partnership with AC Milan enhances our Sports and Business Management track and supports our goal of developing professional players and sports leaders.”
Strengthening Middle East Ties
The partnership was formally launched at a signing ceremony held at Casa Milan, attended by senior officials, including H.E. Osama Abdulla Al Absi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Italy. The project marks another step in AC Milan’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the Middle East. Following the successful opening of Casa Milan Dubai in 2023 and the long-standing AC Milan Academy in Kuwait, this new venture in Bahrain continues the Club’s focus on deepening its regional ties.
Long-Term Commitment to Regional Development
AC Milan’s investment in the Middle East dates back over 15 years, with its longest-running Academy based in Kuwait, serving over 5,000 young players. The new Academy in Bahrain aims to build on this legacy, providing local talent with access to high-quality training and development opportunities.
This partnership reflects a shared vision between AC Milan and NCST to elevate sports education in Bahrain and create a pathway for local athletes to achieve regional and international success. It also underscores the strong institutional relationship between Bahrain and Italy, further solidified by this new collaboration.
What’s Next?
The AC Milan Academy Pro in Bahrain is set to open its doors in the coming months, with training programs tailored for young footballers seeking professional development. The project is expected to become a key pillar of AC Milan’s strategy in the Middle East, focusing on talent development, community engagement, and enhancing the sports culture in the region.
