On July 22, 2024, Feyenoord proudly revealed its updated logo, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in the club's rich history. The redesigned emblem has been meticulously crafted with minor yet significant changes, all of which have been approved by the ‘Stichting Continuïteit’ (StiCo), the guardian of the club's cultural heritage.
Key Changes in the Logo Feyenoord Logo
The updated logo features four main adjustments aimed at modernizing its appearance while staying true to the club's heritage:
- Tighter Alignment: The words ‘Feyenoord’ and ‘Rotterdam’ now have equalized spacing between the letters, providing a cleaner and more balanced look.
- Brighter Red: The left part of the logo now boasts a brighter red, enhancing its visibility and vibrancy.
- Centralized 'F': The characteristic ‘F’ has been repositioned to be front and center, making it a prominent feature of the logo.
- Removal of the Golden Dividing Line: The golden line that previously divided the logo in the middle has been removed, returning to the essence of the original design, which also did not include a dividing line.
Historical Context and Evolution
This is not the first time Feyenoord has updated its club logo. Over the years, the emblem has seen several variations. The most recent change before this one occurred in 2009 when the club introduced a special jubilee logo to celebrate its hundredth anniversary during the 2008-2009 season.
A New Visual Identity
The logo update is a part of Feyenoord's broader initiative to refresh its visual identity, which is being gradually rolled out this summer. Fans can expect to see the first signs of this new identity surfacing throughout the upcoming season. Given the extensive nature of this rebranding operation, it will take until the 2025-2026 season for the entire project to be fully implemented. The final piece of this transformation will be the 2025-2026 kit, which will proudly feature the renewed logo.
