Inter Milan has taken a strategic step to solidify its presence in Saudi Arabia, acquiring a MISA license to formally establish operations in the region. This move signifies the club’s commitment to expanding its brand and influence in the Middle East, while also aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030—a national initiative aimed at economic diversification and fostering a culture of sport and wellness.

MISA License Ceremony in Riyadh

The announcement was made during an official ceremony at the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) headquarters in Riyadh. The event was attended by Inter Milan’s Vice President Javier Zanetti, CEO Corporate Alessandro Antonello, and Chief Revenue Officer Luca Danovaro. This historic partnership marks Inter as the first international football club to secure a MISA license, opening doors for commercial collaboration with Saudi businesses and deepening ties with the region.

Alessandro Antonello emphasized the club’s intention to contribute positively to Saudi Arabia's sports sector and Vision 2030 objectives, saying, “Through this license, the club is committed to creating value for Saudi Arabia by supporting the development of its sporting sector and promoting the involvement of local businesses as part of our global network.”

Inter Milan’s Plans for Growth and Engagement in Saudi Arabia

With the new MISA license, Inter Milan aims to expand its fanbase in Saudi Arabia by launching Inter Academies throughout the country. These academies will play a pivotal role in fostering youth and women’s football, building local talent, and sharing the club’s footballing expertise. Beyond training facilities, Inter plans to host events featuring club Legends and provide unique experiences that bring the Nerazzurri spirit directly to Saudi fans.

The club’s initiative aligns with its broader strategy to export Italian culture and style. By establishing strategic partnerships, Inter will introduce its “Made in Italy” brand through a combination of sports, design, entertainment, and wellness, giving Saudi fans a comprehensive Inter Milan experience.

Building Cultural and Social Connections

Inter Milan has a history of success and strong fan engagement in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia. With multiple appearances in the Italian Super Cup hosted in the kingdom, Inter has seen a significant rise in its local fanbase. Currently, Arabic-speaking followers on the club’s social media channels exceed 5 million, highlighting the enthusiastic support of the region’s football fans. Javier Zanetti noted the deep connection with Saudi fans, stating, “Since we first played here in Riyadh, we've been struck by the passion that young Saudis have for our club, and we look forward to engaging them even more in the Nerazzurri world.”

Inter's involvement goes beyond football. By bringing its Italian heritage and expertise to Saudi Arabia, the club aims to contribute to social and cultural growth, supporting the kingdom's ambition to create a more vibrant sports culture. This partnership with MISA represents a meaningful extension of Inter's commitment to global football development, allowing the club to engage a new generation of fans while supporting Saudi Arabia's goals for the future.
