LALIGA and McDonald's USA are joining forces to launch the McDonald's x LALIGA Soccer Camps, aiming to empower the next generation of Latino and Hispanic soccer talent in the United States. These week-long camps, offered at no cost to participants, will be held in various cities across the country, giving young athletes the opportunity to develop their skills under the guidance of LALIGA’s world-renowned coaches.
Breaking Barriers in Soccer Accessibility
Soccer has long been a sport associated with passion and community, but accessibility remains a challenge for many aspiring players. By providing free access to high-quality training, LALIGA and McDonald’s are making a significant impact on communities often faced with barriers to such opportunities. This initiative reflects McDonald’s longstanding commitment to community support and LALIGA’s dedication to expanding its global soccer footprint, particularly within multicultural markets.
Empowering Young Athletes with World-Class Training
The McDonald's x LALIGA Soccer Camps are more than just training sessions; they are a platform for young athletes to shine and potentially kick-start a career in soccer. Scheduled in cities like Miami, Dallas, Chicago, and more, these camps will focus on various aspects of soccer training, including technical skills, physical fitness, and tactical knowledge.
“By teaming up with McDonald’s, we can bring LALIGA’s expertise directly to the communities that cherish soccer the most, growing the game while fostering young talent,” said Boris Gartner, CEO of LALIGA North America.
An Unforgettable Soccer Experience Awaits
For some participants, the camps will serve as a stepping stone to an even more exciting opportunity. Twelve standout campers will win a trip to Spain to train with LALIGA coaches, compete with academy teams, and experience the thrill of a live LALIGA match. This initiative not only highlights the potential pathways for young athletes but also underscores the transformative power of sports in changing lives.
Engaging Communities and Celebrating Culture
The soccer camps will culminate in a Fan Fest, inviting families and community members to join in the festivities. This event will feature soccer legends such as Diego Forlán and Javier Mascherano, offering fans a chance to connect with their heroes. Interactive zones, training activities, and the opportunity to enjoy McDonald’s favorites will make the Fan Fest a memorable event for all attendees.
Max Gallegos, Head of U.S. Multicultural Marketing Strategy & Engagement at McDonald’s USA, emphasized the importance of this partnership: "Our collaboration with LALIGA is not just about soccer; it's about creating opportunities and opening doors for young players who dream of playing professionally but face economic barriers."
