Liverpool FC has partnered with Google Pixel and The Powerhouse Project to launch the Pixel FC Academy, an initiative aimed at helping young women break into the world of football media and content creation.

The Pixel FC Academy is a five-month intensive program designed to offer aspiring female creators hands-on experience and training across various aspects of modern sports media. This includes workshops focused on broadcast punditry, media production, written press, and the ever-evolving world of viral social content. The goal is to equip the next generation of women with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in a male-dominated industry.

Hands-On Experience with Liverpool FC Women

One of the program's standout features is the exclusive access it provides to Liverpool FC Women, giving academy members the chance to create real-world content. Participants will have the opportunity to film with the team and cover Barclays Women’s Super League matches. The content produced will be shared across LFC's digital and social media platforms, offering invaluable exposure for budding creators.

In addition to these opportunities, graduates of the Pixel FC Academy may also have the chance to secure paid work experience, internships, or freelance opportunities with Liverpool FC, based on performance and availability.

Industry Leaders Offering Guidance

The initiative brings together some of the most influential voices in football media, including representatives from ITV, 90MIN, and other major outlets. These industry leaders will provide training, inspiration, and mentorship to help guide participants as they navigate the complex world of sports media. Each academy member will be paired with a mentor from the sports industry, offering long-term support and career guidance.

A unique aspect of the academy is the inclusion of training on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern sports coverage. Participants will learn how to enhance their content using AI tools in conjunction with Pixel products, which will be provided throughout the program.

Applications Now Open

The application window for the Pixel FC Academy is open now, with aspiring female creators encouraged to apply by November 18. This initiative aligns with Google Pixel's broader mission to close the visibility gap between men’s and women’s football, inspiring more girls and women to get involved in the sport and push the game forward.

By offering a clear talent pathway for women in sports media, the Pixel FC Academy is set to reshape the landscape, increasing the number of female voices in football and setting a new standard for inclusivity in the industry.
