Real Betis has taken a significant step forward in the development of their new home with the reception of the basic project for the new Estadio Benito Villamarín. This project is set to transform the stadium into a modern sports arena that not only enhances fan experience but also boosts the club's revenue potential.
Enhanced Fan Comfort and Accessibility
The redesign of the Estadio Benito Villamarín, crafted by the renowned architectural firm Rafael de La-Hoz, aims to significantly elevate the comfort and accessibility for fans. The stadium will feature a new façade, inspired by the Thirteen Bars of the club's crest, utilizing light tones and translucent materials that can also project colors and images, enhancing the visual experience for attendees.
Key to the redesign is the focus on accessibility. The plan includes the installation of four escalators that will provide easy access to the Gol Sur, Gol Norte, Fondo, and Preferencia areas, reaching up to the terrace of the first amphitheater. This improvement is crucial in ensuring that all fans, regardless of physical ability, can enjoy game days without inconvenience.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Increased Revenue Opportunities
The new stadium will boast cutting-edge technology and facilities. Two new larger videoboards will be installed at the Gol Norte and Gol Sur ends, equipped with the latest technology. Enhanced sound and lighting systems are also part of the upgrade, aimed at improving the overall matchday spectacle.
In line with the club's sustainability policy, the stadium's new roof design will facilitate rainwater collection for use in irrigating the pitch. This eco-friendly initiative reflects Real Betis' commitment to sustainability.
From a revenue perspective, the project is set to triple the number of VIP seats from 1,200 to 3,700. This increase not only promises a better viewing experience for premium ticket holders but also significantly boosts potential earnings from matchday sales. Real Betis Stadium
Culinary Delights and Community Engagement
Addressing the gastronomic needs of fans, the stadium will introduce three large restaurant areas. These zones will provide quality dining options not just on matchdays but throughout the week, located strategically around the stadium for ease of access. The main dining area, a sprawling 1,000 square meters, will be situated in the new Preferencia stand.
The project also includes a new official store and an expanded museum space, each spreading over 1,000 square meters. The museum will be located between the Gol Norte and Fondo stands, offering an enriched Real Betis Tour experience that includes visits to the locker rooms, a rooftop view of the Heliópolis neighborhood, and the new official store.
A Venue for Events Beyond Football
Adding to its versatility, the new Preferencia stand will house a large auditorium with 400 seats, suitable for corporate events and press conferences. This space will not only serve the club's business needs but also offer a venue for community and cultural events, further embedding the club within the local community.
